この前ふと、

「日本全国」って言葉に引っかかって。

全国という言葉の成り立ちが

もし、

全国＝国の全て

だとしたら、なんとなく分かる。

でも、順番通りに考えると

全国＝すべての国

になるわけで。

そうなると、

今の日本なら

「全県」の方が正しいのでは？

と、ちょっとモヤモヤしてしまって。

で、

「 昔は県じゃなくて国だったからじゃない？ 」

って、勝手に仮説を立てて調べてみたら

たぶん、当たってました👏

尾張の国、とか〇〇国って呼ばれていた
令制国の名残で、

国じゅう全部＝全国、

という意味だったみたいです。

だから

日本全国＝日本という国の中にある

すべての国（地域）

という感覚が、

今も言葉として残っているんだとか。

　

……まあ、

専門家の意見をきちんと
見つけたわけではないので、

この解釈が完全に合っているかは
分かりません…笑

でも、

何気なく使っている言葉に

「なんでだろ？」って引っかかって、

ちょっと調べてみるのって、

案外おもしろいですよね。
